THOUSANDS of Instagram users across the UK and US have reported problems loading their pages and sending messages via the app.
Reports of an Instagram outage flooded us Down detector on Thursday around 2:00 p.m. GMT/10:00 a.m. ET.
Why isn’t Instagram working?
It’s unclear why Instagram is currently not working for some users.
Instagram owner Meta did not comment on the problems.
More than 2,000 users have reported down-site issues Down detector on November 2nd.
The majority of those who have complained about the popular down site say the problem is with the app.
However, over 20 percent of users say they cannot access the website version of the platform either.
Users flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to complain and get to the bottom of the problem.
One tweet said: “Instagram is down for the 500th time this year.”
Another wrote: “Why is Instagram offline every time I have a good conversation with someone?”
Users have claimed that they continue to receive notifications but are no longer able to browse.
The US Sun has reached out to Meta for comment.
How to check if Instagram is working
Instagram’s official Twitter page is a good first stop.
The companys InstagramComms The site usually tweets all information about the latest problems and outages.
Another thing people tend to do is tweet about their own problems.
So do a search on Twitter – that way you’ll at least know whether it’s something just you are experiencing or something much bigger.
Also, it’s always good to check if you’re using the latest version of the app.
Android users should visit the Google Play Store and tap on the three lines in the top left corner.
From the menu, select “My apps and games,” then “Updates.” Then check if newer versions are available.
If Instagram is present, be sure to tap the refresh button to the right of the name.
iPhone users need to open the App Store and tap the Updates tab at the bottom of the page.
Failing that, you can visit an independent status checking website such as Is It Down or Just Me, Is It Down Right Now and Down Detector.
What to do if Instagram is not available?
It’s best to restart the app.
Force quit Instagram by sliding up and then closing the app so it closes completely.
See if it reloads then.
There may also be a problem with your connection. So check if something else, such as a web page, is loading for you. If it doesn’t load, there is a problem with your internet.
And if after all this you are still having problems, it’s time to find out if you are alone in all this.
Do a search on Twitter to see if others are complaining about the same thing.
