Two little-known iPhone and Android tricks that can help you improve your phone signal without having to step outside

Are you suffering from terrible cell signal in your area?
Well, experts at UberSignal, a retailer of service boosters and amplifiers, have suggested two tricks you can use to boost your signal without having to go outside and wave your handset around.
“Since so much of our everyday lives rely on our cell phones, things like a weak signal, dropped calls or slow data speeds can have a big impact,” experts wrote in one Blog earlier this year.
“Fortunately, there are a number of things you can do to improve your cellular signal for clear calls and fast data speeds.”
Turn off WiFi and Bluetooth
According to UberSignal, disabling any services you don’t currently use can immediately improve your service.
“Services such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Near-Field Communication (NFC) can sometimes cause problems either by attempting to send your calls and data over another service or by allowing other devices to consume bandwidth intended for “quick data or clear calls is needed,” experts wrote.
“Try disabling it on your phone and see if your signal improves.”
Update your software
As with most technical issues, the problem can often be resolved by updating the device.
As the experts at UberSignal explain, “You know those messages you sometimes get about your carrier software updating?”
“These updates tell your phone which towers to connect to.

“Ideally, you should always update, but if you haven’t done so recently, you should check now to see if it’s necessary.”
Bonus trick
If you have an urgent call or don’t want to miss it, you should try Wi-Fi calling instead.
Every smartphone will have this capability.
For example, all calls on WhatsApp are made over the Internet.
“Although not technically a method of improving your cellular signal, calling and using data over Wi-Fi is a way to maintain contact with the outside world when a cellular signal is not available to improve,” experts added.
