Travis Kelce’s stylist talks about the athlete’s clothes and more

Travis Kelce takes fashion seriously.

While the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been making headlines lately with his bold and vibrant style choices on the go Taylor SwiftThe professional athlete has long been considered a style star.

“Travis has a clear vision of his personal aesthetic and definitely stylizes himself.” Danielle SalzedoHead of Strategy at A&A Management Group, told exclusively Us weekly.

As for the process, Salzedo — who has helped Kelce curate game-day outfits and red carpet appearances — describes her work as collaborative. “I know what he likes and I find him options from brands that we know suit him – while also looking for new ones to explore,” she explained.

Unlike some other celebrities, Kelce is very involved in his clothing choices and purchases his own designer products rather than waiting for them to be sent to him for free.

“He takes the time to shop online so he knows what’s available and what’s new,” Salzedo said Us. “He spends a lot of time on various retail and designer sites researching and shopping for new pieces. He purchased parts before we could even contact the brand to secure the items.”

For Kelce, there are no limits when it comes to expressing herself through clothing. “He plays a lot with monochromatic and oversized sets [looks]“Salzedo shared. “He’s not afraid to mix prints in unexpected ways.”

The NFL star’s closet is filled with pieces from Louis Vuitton, Fear of God, Christian Dior, Bottega Veneta, Tom Ford, Thom Browne, Marni and Kid Super.

After the Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears game on September 24, Kelce was seen walking hand-in-hand with Swift, 33, while wearing a cream denim jacket with an abstract blue illustration and matching pants by Kid Super. The ensemble quickly went viral, with Swifties comparing the colorway to Swift’s 1989 artwork (Taylor’s version). The controversy surrounding the outfit was so heated that the brand changed the name of the item from “Bedroom Painting Denim Jacket” to “1989 Bedroom Painting Denim Jacket.”

While the name change only further fueled speculation that the outfit was a tribute to Swift, Salzedo said Us that Kelce already had the Kid Super set “in his closet.”

“I love the narrative surrounding his looks,” Salzedo continued, before moving on to a separate Swift style theory: Kelce’s curtain pants.

Last month, Kelce rocked a pair of brown crushed velvet pants that many thought resembled the bronze drapes featured in Swift’s October 2022 TikTok series, “Midnight Mayhem With Me.”

“They’re playful, elegant and cozy, which Travis always does so well,” Salzedo said Usadded: “I don’t have an answer to that [curtain theory]. However, when people form an authentic connection, serendipity happens.”

In addition to always blessing Us With fashion statements, Kelce is committed to making a name for herself behind the scenes.

Salzedo said Us that Kelce is the “first NFL player to ever design an official merch collaboration for a local club” and that his Tru Kolors brand and the Chiefs are preparing to release a joint collection “before the holiday season.”

Although his career in fashion is just beginning, Kelce has already made an impact on the industry. As an athlete with a passion for style, dressing can be a challenge as brands don’t offer sizes that fit men of his “tall stature.”

“His dress shoe size is 15,” Salzedo said Us. “These red carpet moments require a little planning and sourcing. Fortunately, many designers are now realizing that the tunnel moments with the athletes are big fashion stages and are starting to cater to bigger athletes.”

She added, “I’m sure there will be a collaboration with a major fashion brand and Travis Kelce soon that will highlight his dynamic taste. … There’s more to come.”
