Tom Sandoval can’t say he’ll never have an affair again

Tom Sandoval Having an affair seems like a distant memory, even though it keeps making headlines. The phrase “Once a cheater, always a cheater” has a pretty good track record. Of course, people can change at any time. That’s one of the beautiful things about humanity. But generally speaking, those who commit infidelity don’t have the best reputation.

Case in point, Sandy. It’s hard to say whether Tom learned anything from Scandoval. It’s been months now since the Vanderpump Rules cheating scandal first broke, and Tom seems to be the same smug TV personality.

For any fans hoping that Tom might reflect on his actions and come out of it a better person, there’s bad news. The singer has come out and said that he could definitely cheat again. You would expect more self-confidence from someone who thinks so highly of themselves. But no.

Tom thinks it’s better to “lower expectations”

On the October 19 episode of his podcast “Everybody Loves Tom,” the VPR star spoke with comedian Nikki Glaser. During their conversation, Nikki said she heard from Nick Viall that Tom told him, “I can’t say I’ll never do that [have an affair] again.” Tom confirmed that he had indeed said that and gave further insight into the matter.

“Yes. I don’t like dealing with absolutes. That’s the path to the dark side,” he said. “I think it’s better to lower expectations in some ways and then exceed them.” The public’s expectations of Tom must be less than ever. Nikki said she understands where Tom was coming from and that it’s impossible to know what might happen in the future of a relationship.

It probably can’t be emphasized enough, but Tom needs therapy. Loyalty is the bare minimum in every relationship. If Tom really believes he can’t pursue another relationship without the possibility of cheating, it sounds like he needs to work on himself. The emotional maturity is simply not there.

Vanderpump Rules is expected to return to Bravo in early 2024.
