The leader of an extremist Islamic group who called for “jihad” at an anti-Israel demonstration has been exposed as an NHS GP.
Abdul Wahid is head of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the UK and hailed this month’s brutal Hamas terror attacks as a “welcome slap in the nose” for Israel.
But he has spent more than 20 years practicing as a family Physician under his real name Dr. Wahid Asif Shaida.
Mr. Wahid said at a rally outside the Egyptian and Turkish embassies last week: “Victory is at hand and everyone must choose a side. “Which side are you on?”
Another member of the group asked what the “solution” was to “liberate the people in the Palestine concentration camp” and was met with shouts of “Jihad!” Jihad! Jihad!”
Some of Mr Wahid’s shocked patients told the Mail on Sunday they had no idea about his double life.
According to his Twitter account, Wahid attended a book launch for his friend Shaikh Asrar Rashid yesterday.
Rashid previously claimed that Hitler had done the Jews “a favor” by making them “popular” in Europe.
The Birmingham-based cleric also once described the late Queen Elizabeth II as a “disgusting woman”.
