The first concerns checking the channel settings on the router. The expert recommended checking whether the router can be set to use channels 1, 6 or 11 to reduce problems.
The router may also support 5GHz, which is faster than the default 2.4GHz.
The expert also reveals that some household appliances such as microwaves can occasionally slow down the internet connection if they use the same frequency as the router.
And when viruses infect your home computer, it can also slow down internet speeds. The expert recommended using the latest virus software and updates to ensure that viruses do not become a problem.
An expert recommended placing the router at least 30cm away from other electrical devices in the home.
Aman Bhatti, director of propositions at Sky Broadband, told The Sun: “For the best Wi-Fi performance, try to move your hub 30cm or more away from other electronic devices such as speakers, a cordless phone base station, TVs, etc. to keep away.”
Another expert gave tips on improving internet speed in a YouTube video.
The expert explains: “This is how you make the Internet ten times faster. Go to Network and Internet Options.”
“Select “Ethernet” and change the adapter options. Go to “Properties” and “Configure” and then select “Speed” and “Duplex”.
