Nikki Haley calls Vivek Ramaswamy “scum” after attacking her daughter, while Ron DeSantis vows to ban TikTok in heated GOP debate

THE 2024 presidential candidates have struggled to move out of former President Donald Trump’s shadow in the latest heated Republican debate.
Things got heated on stage after Vivek Ramaswamy made a caustic comment about Nikki Haley’s daughter, who called him scum and said Russia’s “mouth is watering” to see him in office.
Haley, the former South Carolina governor, made a strong statement on TikTok as entrepreneur Ramaswamy took the low blow.
Haley and others, such as South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, called for a nationwide ban on the Chinese app, and Haley criticized Ramaswamy for spreading his campaign on the social media platform.
Ramaswamy replied that her daughter was a user of the app and warned her to “take care of the family first” before criticizing him.
This came after he criticized Haley as “Dick Cheney in three-inch heels” over her foreign policy on the war in the Middle East.
The mother bear immediately hit back, screaming, “Get your voice out of my daughter,” before adding, “You’re just scum.”
She warned that her shoes were actually “five-inch” heels that doubled as ammunition.
On Wednesday, the three were joined on the main stage in Miami by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to promote America’s vote of confidence.
The candidates were immediately urged by NBC News anchor Lester Holt to differentiate themselves from Donald Trump, who has topped the polls since his announcement nearly a year ago.
He didn’t show up for a debate and instead held a rally in Hileah, Florida, about a half-hour drive from his rivals.
DeSantis, once considered a front-runner, criticized Trump for increasing the national debt during his presidency and for failing to force Mexico to finance a border wall.
Meanwhile, Ramaswamy said there is a “cancer” in the Republican Party, citing Holt and the other anchors as examples.
He said Tesla CEO Elon Musk, podcaster Joe Rogan and former Fox News star Tucker Carlson should be the ones to moderate and question the next RNC chief.
The majority of the debate centered on the war in Israel and Palestine, with the majority of candidates expressing strong support for the Jewish state.
Haley called on Israel to eradicate Hamas with US support, but made clear that Americans should not set foot on Gaza soil.
She found a cheerleader in Scott who said, “You have to cut the snake’s head off. And the head of the snake is Iran.”
There was more disagreement on stage about the Ukraine war as Haley and Scott expressed support for Volodymyr Zelensky’s cause.
Haley said, “We should give them the equipment and ammunition to win,” and Scott added, “Every day we get closer to degrading the Russian military, and that’s good news.”
Ramaswamy considered the war a foolish affair and brought up the large population differences between the states before sharply criticizing Haley.

She hit back: “I’m telling you, Putin and President Xi are salivating at the thought of someone like that becoming president,” referring to Russian leader and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
After the debate, Haley insightfully addressed Ramaswamy’s comment about his daughter NBC News: “I am a mother. As soon as you start saying something about my 25-year-old daughter, I will have my back.”
