Man Utd’s summer transfer target is now the BEST goalkeeper in Europe with Andre Onana playing four times for FC Copenhagen

MANCHESTER UNITED considered a deal for Yann Sommer before splashing out on Andre Onana this summer.
And it looks like they may have made the wrong decision to spend £47million on the Cameroon goalkeeper.
Onana was brought to Old Trafford to replace the aging David De Gea but has so far failed to live up to expectations.
The 27-year-old scored four goals in Man Utd’s 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen on Wednesday night and has already come under fire for a number of high-profile errors this season.
While Sommer, who was heavily linked with a move to Man Utd in the summer, has performed excellently since joining Inter Milan from Bayern Munich.
Since arriving in Italy, he has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in Europe’s top five leagues.
The experienced 34-year-old kept the ball out of his goal NINE of his 15 appearances in all competitions.
Contributing to this astonishing record is the fact that he has only conceded eight goals so far this season.
In comparison, Onana has seen the ball fly past him a whopping 30 times for Man Utd this season.
To make matters worse for the Red Devils, Sommer cost a fraction of the amount they spent on Onana.

Inter replaced Onana with Swiss International for a reported £5.2 million.
There have already been a number of question marks over Man Utd’s summer signing, including comparisons to the man he replaced, De Gea.
The underlying stats have shown that Onana hasn’t performed as well as one would expect compared to last season’s Golden Glove winner.
And there are already rumors that the Manchester giants are considering a miraculous return to the club for their former goalkeeper.
