But its fundraising campaign, which urges people to “support the resistance to new oil and gas”, has so far raised just £2,383.

On its website, the militant group said: “Just Stop Oil is AGAIN on the streets for another campaign, calling on the government to act on the looming climate catastrophe by stopping the production of new oil and gas.”

“In our fourth major campaign, we are on the verge of a tremendous victory for humanity.

“Can you support ordinary people to do extraordinary things in the face of oppression?”

A JSO source said: “The next two months will be great.

“There will be epic disruptions on a scale never seen before.”
