White noise is a mixture of sound waves that extend over a wide frequency range.

And white noise apps and machines are precisely designed to ensure this.

“They create a blanket of sound around you that absorbs other sound waves, so little creaks and pops and cars driving by don’t quite reach your brain and you don’t respond to them,” says Michael Grandner, director of the University of Arizona’s Sleep and Health Research Program College of Medicine said CNN.

Sales of white noise machines have only increased over the years, but the cost of such machines can cost buyers up to $200.

However, if you own an iPhone, the white noise setting is available to you completely free of charge.

HOW TO ENABLE THIS SETTING

If you want to play white noise on your iPhone, first go to your device’s settings.

Next, tap Accessibility, search for Audio/Visual and select it.

Look for background noise there and turn it on.

You should now be able to hear the relaxing background sounds.

MORE TIPS

iPhone Night Mode is another handy tool that can help you sleep better.

This setting works by automatically adjusting your screen’s display from cooler to warmer tones.

And then, in the morning, the display returns to its normal settings.

You can enable this feature under Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift.

Users can also lower the white point on their iPhone to adjust the intensity of the colors.

At night, bright light can be just as harmful to you as blue light because it wakes up our brains.

You can fix this by going to your iPhone’s settings.

From there, go to Accessibility > Display and Text Size and enable the Reduce White Point option.
