GTA 6 fans outraged by missing trailer – here’s what happened and when we expect it

FANS of Grand Theft Auto are eagerly awaiting more news about the upcoming installment in the series.

It was first released in February 2022, but we hadn’t even seen a teaser trailer yet.

There were rumors that the first trailer would be released on October 26, 2023, but that has passed with no trailer in sight.

Why did fans believe a GTA 6 trailer would be released on October 26th?

Rumors about the GTA 6 trailer began when a user posted on the video game forum on 4chan that he was a Rockstar employee.

Claiming to be a Rockstar collaborator, they listed a number of things we could expect to see in the trailer, as well as the release date of October 26th.

4chan is an anonymous message board where anyone can post without a username, making it difficult to attribute posts to a specific person.

Although real leaks have been discovered on 4chan, any post seen on the site should always be viewed with caution.

This thread was posted on Reddit and a number of other social media sites and people began to confirm that they had heard the rumors too.

Some users said they also knew people at Rockstar, including the infamous Reddit post from a man who said his wife worked at Rockstar that “described” the upcoming trailer.

Such rumors are common, but fall into the category of playground whispers from a kid whose “uncle works at Nintendo.”

Basically, if you read an anonymous post from someone claiming to know someone at a major studio, it’s probably made up.

When will we see a trailer for GTA 6?

GTA 6 has currently been in development for several years, so it’s likely there will be a trailer soon.

Rockstar probably wants the trailer to be a surprise to grab the most attention.

Many trailers will be unveiled at The Game Awards, gaming’s biggest awards show.

This year it will take place on December 7, 2023, and a trailer could be revealed here.

However, if they want to make the biggest impact, they can release it separately just before the awards ceremony.
