England and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze wants to “triple his current salary” in a new contract with a huge release clause.

Crystal Palace have held groundbreaking talks with another big name at the club – as Eze has a new long-term contract on the cards.

In recent months, Michael Olise, Jordan Aynew and Sam Johnstone have all spoken out in favor of staying with the Eagles.

And now the 25-year-old is set to follow in their footsteps after turning down several offers from other clubs in the summer.

One club in particular was Manchester City who had the Londoner on their radar as they believed Pep Guardiola was an admirer of Eze.

But Palace are now inches away from retaining the England international on a new contract that is expected to be worth three times his current salary.

Accordingly TEAM Talk The new contract will contain an extensive exit clause, but the exact amount has not yet been determined.

Eze moved to Selhurst Park in 2020, signing a five-year contract – he has since made 98 appearances and scored 16 goals.

With his contract expiring in the summer of 2025, the Eagles currently value the midfielder at around £50 million.

The talented midfielder has provided 15 assists and contributes to the goal every 3.1 times he plays.

The two-cap England star made his senior England debut in June, coming on as a 70th-minute substitute for James Maddison in a 4-0 UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying win over Malta.

Eze then played his second England game against Scotland in September.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace fans will be happy to hear that the club is looking for new contracts for defenders Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen.
