Ashling Murphy’s boyfriend said she was a “vibrant, intelligent and highly motivated woman” in an emotional statement after Jozef Puska was found guilty of murder.
The 33-year-old, of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, County Offaly, had pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms Murphy on January 12, 2022 in Cappincur, Tullamore, County Offaly.
After Jozef Puska was found guilty of murder, Ryan Casey spoke to the media and thanked the Irish police and prosecutors for their work in the case.
He also spoke on behalf of the Murphy family: “From day one, the love and support of the Irish people, both nationally and internationally, has been felt in abundance as they stood in solidarity with our family in mourning both .” Loss of our beautiful, talented Ashling and to condemn gender-based brutality with inner revulsion.
“Ashley was a vibrant, intelligent and highly motivated woman who embodied so many great characteristics and qualities of the Irish people and their communities.
“Her life had a profound impact on so many of those around her and she was the epitome of a perfect role model that every little girl could look up to and aspire to.”
“She was not only an integral part of our family, but also a great light in our community.”
