Andy Cohen Responds to Bethenny Frankel’s “Reality Reckoning”
Many have pointed out the shortcomings of reality television in the past, but the cries have never been louder than they are now. The writers’ and actors’ strikes helped move things along. But even if these strikes end, Bethenny Frankel is still pushing for reforms. And she has made it clear that no one will stand in her way, especially not Andy Cohen.
Bethenny has taken multiple direct shots at the Watch What Happens Live host, accusing him of fostering the toxic work environment that leads to reality stars tearing each other down.
As expected, Andy remained largely silent in his response to Bethenny’s attacks. However, at BravoCon 2023Andy could no longer address the topic indirectly, as he was apparently asked for his opinion on reality calculation.
Andy Cohen defends Bravo against Bethenny Frankel because she brings “joy.”
Twitter user @queensofbravo posted a video from BravoCon showing Andy next to Jeff Lewis. The tweet was captioned: “Andy shares his thoughts on Bethenny’s Reality Reckoning.” [side-eye emoji].” The video began with Andy saying, “Bravo, as we can all see – Bravo and the shows that are on Bravo – bring so much joy and so much happiness to millions of people.”
He continued, “That’s why you’re all here – to have fun… I thrive on the joy that these shows bring to people, and I think we all do. That’s where I’m at.” Many on Twitter pointed out Jeff’s body language and noted that he looked uncomfortable. One Twitter user accused Andy of “always distracting.”
While many Twitter users confirmed how much they loved Bravo, they were also ready to see the other side. One response said: “Yes, we know the shows bring joy to other people, but the reality is about the fair treatment of the talent on these shows.” Andy should be a politician like he danced [around] answer everything directly!”
BravoCon continues this weekend, November 3-5, at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas.
