A mix of sun and clouds with near record warmth today and tomorrow

TODAY: Clouds in the morning, sun in the afternoon, warm! Hello 78.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, mild. See 58.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy, warm! Hello 78.

Temperatures yesterday were one degree below the record high. Today’s record high is 82°, set in 1963. Although some backyards might be close to that, the official record should be safe. However, it will remain unusually warm until Saturday. Highs of 78° are forecast for both today and tomorrow! There will be a mix of clouds and sun both today and tomorrow and both days should remain dry. The front that has been in the Midwest all week will finally move eastward Saturday night, bringing with it a few showers.

A slow-moving front will bring isolated light showers on Sunday and again on Monday. Total two-day rainfall amounts are expected to average about 0.25 to 0.50 inches. Skies will clear on Tuesday as the colder air arrives, and temperatures will barely reach 50° next week! What a difference! Halloween will be chilly and windy with trick-or-treat night with brisk cold forcing ghosts and goblins to bundle up. Another frost is possible next Thursday.
